I’m already being asked what my plans are for March break this year. It’s crazy as I feel that Christmas was just yesterday. If you are planning on doing something special for March break, it is smart to begin the process of planning a couple months prior to the school hiatus.

Many companies and businesses are in the process of firming up their schedules and finalizing their plans for what they will be offering their customers over the break. Travel agents, attractions, parks, rinks, communities, entertainment facilities, little theatres, clubs, camps etc. all consider what they can offer kids and parents to make that week fun and interesting for all who can partake.
I remember when my kids were young and wanted to participate in a March Break program. It was not only about their interest in a certain theme like sports or crafting, but it was about which company met my need and my children’s interest that reached me first.That’s what is important. Once the decision has been made and the child is excited, a parent is very unlikely to change the decision even if what is being offered beats factors like quality and price. There would have to be a very good reason to make the change.
Timing is Critical
Grandma used to say “The squeaky wheel gets the grease” and I have certainly come to agree with that over the years. Effective advertising will bring the customers to consider what you have to offer and then it’s the details of cost, timing, availability etc. that will hold them to make a decision in your favour. Timing is just as important as the other factors. When creating offerings that are time driven, reaching the client during the time period where they make their decisions is critical.
The key is to not only reach the customer but catch their attention. In today’s world there are many tools at your fingertips to help with the process. Gone are the days of just putting an ad in the local newspaper. Multimedia is where it’s at if you’re going to compete with other companies offering similar services.
